Subject:Fuck physics
Time:10:55 am.
Mood: calm.
Seriously...fuck it. I shouldn't have taken it in the summer, when the curve is based on 60 smart people (since the dumb ones like me were smarter than I was and dropped). Now I get to retake my first class ever...ugh. .4 points... .4. Oh well. I got credit for the lab, so it could definitely be worse. Maybe now I'll get a kickass grade since there will be 150 people in the class, versus 60.
Home is relaxinggggggg. My parents are in Florida for the funeral, so it's just me, the bro, and the doggies. I'm seeing people who I haven't seen in FOREVER and that makes me very happy :). Back to those awkward classmate run-ins at the grocery store though...haha. Went to the beach yesterday...mmm. It's finally summer! I've been working out and reading for fun...it's amazing. Also amazing...CLOUDS!!! YAY!!! And fresh air...air that doesn't smell like piss. Yay. As much as I love living in Seattle, the boonies are my favorite. Driving dark windy roads at night with the music blasting...something I REALLY missed!!! Riding Squawk soon with Kelli! WOO! And stopping by Homestead soon too, once Becca gets home. That should be interesting.

Subject:What a good weekend!
Time:9:51 am.
Mood: exhausted.
I was finally able to completely remove myself from anything school-related this weekend. Friday I went to Trabant with Katie and Dipa and met a really cool friend of Katie's who told me all about Ecuador (so now I want to go there too...haha). Looks like next summer we'll be going to CUBA...yes...CUBA...the country that it's basically impossible for Americans to travel to. The CHID department is going to have a program there...we don't even know exactly what the program will be like, but when else would we get the chance to go to Cuba! I'm SUPER excited!! I think another friend of mine from Spanish will come too :). Just hope Senor Castro is still in power when we go.
Saturday was Hawk Ridge...lots of adorable kids and a new adorable pony. Then dinner and drinks at Dipa's place on the plateau...good times :). Then back here for beer pong and "rescuing" Erin and her friends...let's just say long day.
Then yesterday I was at my dad's for a longgg time. Saw a good family friend, found out that my dad has Absinthe...yeah the Moulin Rouge stuff...who'd a thunk. No I haven't tasted it yet...I'm a little intimidated. Then Patti came up to hang out, so got to see her before she heads back to Pullman :D. I feel like I've missed the entire summer. My "summer" doesn't even start until aug 19th, and by then everyone will be going back to start their falls.
I'm a bit worried about my foot. The splint was making my foot go numb no matter how loose or tight I had it on.. and other parts of my leg started to hurt again as well. I stopped wearing it, but I dunno what to do and I don't see the doctor for another two weeks. Oh well.
Kristen's back from Hawaii! And oh-so-tan...of course. I <3 my roomies, and mis amigos.

Subject:Sunny day, chasing the clouds away
Time:6:23 pm.
Mood: calm.
Yesterday was BAD timing for my training :(. I feel horrible about missing Trisha's wedding!! But then afterwards was my sailing lesson...til 10 pm, and it was AMAZING. Dipa, Tara and I signed up together, and it turns out that Ben and his girlfriend are in our class too. We have a really nice class, and our teacher is a funny guy. My partner and I were the challenged children to start out with...rigging our boat and such...but we ended up doing just fine after that. Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day for that. Especially because all of the people in the 1-man boats capsized...hehe.
Today was Hawk Ridge, and it was a lighter schedule than usual which was nice. Found out that the Issaquah Park & Ride got moved to the plateau temporarily...would've been nice to know before we got on the bus... We went back to my house so my mom could drive us back, and 4 baby birds had been pulled out of their nest and were lying on the ground...but only 1 was dead. The others looked extremely hungry, and 1 was really young. So we made them a nest in a box and they all huddled together. I hope they survive...
Got my new glasses! :D This has been a good weekend so far...and Sarah moved all her stuff in today!! Plus...I may have a promising boy adventure next week... This summer is going to be surprisingly relaxing despite having classes.

Time:2:53 pm.
Mood: cheerful.
As much as I love the rain...the soggy pants are starting to get to me. I don't mind rain...but walking through hundreds of puddles just ain't my thing. Class=blah. IMA=beautiful. Too bad I was sick for part of this week and so I didn't go as much as I should've. Dinner last night with Jess was fab...yes we got bubble tea afterwards :). Today I had my orientation at Children's, and they forgot to email me that it was supposed to be moved to next week, so I got my own private (and faster) one. Yay. Tonight is the start of what promises to be an AWESOME WEEKEND! Bring on the Winter Wonderland...:)!

Subject:No cream puff...
Time:7:01 pm.
Mood: content.
So today was the first chem lecture, and oh boy how fun it was. 2 people fell asleep, and one of them hit his head on my friend's table in doing so, which was hilarious. Also hilarious...Tara's comment on how "this guy might just die on us", and our prof asking us if we wanted an easy, "cream puff" class, and then assuring us that he can't give us a "cream puff". He's Greek, and seems to think that we're good at chem...haha. Lab today was only 15 minutes, SCORE!! Our TA seems cool...he likes to get out early, yay. And a nice person from my Fig is in there, which is nice. The hw load is going to kill this quarter, but oh well. Busy is good :).

Rose Bowl=DISAPPOINTING...that end sucked! On a brighter note...apparently Apollo Ono (the speedskater) posed for Cosmo at Castle Ice...CRAZY!! I'll be looking for that one!

Subject:Retail therapy...mmmmm
Time:4:23 pm.
Mood: accomplished.
This morning Paul and I set out for the cemetery so he could put some flowers out and see Tom's new headstone. It's really quite incredible, if I may say so. Pictures, and the handprints of his little sibs. Then off we went to Southcenter to spend Christmas money. I LOVE how Penney's has such amazing sales. Most of what I bought was 60% off...woo! New purse, wallet, 3 CUTE camis, and a new belt from the Gap. My mom is buying me new jeans on Sunday, and then I'll be good to go for a while! This break has flown by...my head has been so fuzzy for most of it. And now when I'm finally getting in the groove of being back in Issy, I get sick. Oh well. New Year's will be fun fun fun, and then back to Seattle :).

Today was good :). Went to the movies with Emily, Memoirs of a Geisha was incredible! So many good movies out right now...hope I have time to see Brokeback Mountain, Rent, King Kong, The Producers, etc. Went to dinner with Patti at La Fuente...ah the Calvo memories...
Tomorrow I'll be out with the bro...retail therapy hell yeah!
I've sort of made peace/gotten things back to normal with 2 people already this break, so that feels gooooooooood! Should be good to go when we all get back!

Subject:Oh how I love shiny things...
Time:3:07 pm.
Mood: anxious.
I think I've made good use of my free time. Yesterday, Julie, Katie and I went to Northgate, and I got second lobe holes that are blingalicious, especially on my right ear, cuz now I have 3 piercings on that one. We spent waayyyyy too much time and money at Claire's, oh darn. Funny how much money we spent on ourselves when we were supposed to be shopping for everyone else. Then went to dinner with Piya, yay! Had an awesome conversation (as always), and finally got my birthday meal in. Brenna might end up being her new roomie...how cool would that be! Then came back to the apartment for Freaky Friday with Katie, Jon and Kareem, and to wait for Stacy to get home for her birthday surprise. Rachel and I went to Jon's place to say bye to Mahesh and Aaron, but Aaron was out so we just hung out with Mahesh and Ilya for a bit and then headed back. Stacy got home, and we all had cake, and then watched a crazy movie...Me and You and Everyone We Know...still not quite sure what I think about it. I hate how movies make me think about exactly what I want them to distract me from. Oh well. Everyone but me and Rachel went to join some beer carolers, and we got a call from Odegaard (the library) that they almost got arrested...hmmmm. I guess drunken singing in the library during finals week isn't such a good idea. But everyone came back and we said our goodbyes, and it was a good time. This morning went to breakfast with Rachel, and then LOTS of packing...wooooohoo. I'll be in Atlanta saturday thru the 23rd, so feel free to call me (keep the time change in mind) cuz I'll be frustrated and bored out of my mind. Happy break, and Merry Christmas to all!

Done w/ finals. Yup chem sucked ass...might be disappointed in Andersen if it was any different...ugh. BUT on the way there Tara and I found a $20 bill on the ground...how cool...so after the final we went to the bookstore and got yummies with it. I also got some really cute GOLD earrings...about time since I've been borrowing Julie's everytime I wear my gold shirt. Time to relaxxxxx! I just wish everyone was already done, and could rejoice with me and Katie! Good luck to everyone who still has finals!

Time:8:40 pm.
Mood: ecstatic.
I AM GOING TO STAY AT UW FOR AN EXTRA YEAR AND DOUBLE MAJOR IN PHYSIOLOGY AND SPANISH! Yup...I said it...in caps.
I love UW, so why the fuck should I be in a rush to leave?! I don't know of many people who will finish in 4 years anyways, ESPECIALLY double majors. This way I'll be able to take more than 1 (no exaggeration there) fun class not in my major or minor. Better GPA, more time for volunteering before grad school, and a freaking double major. YAY! And this way I don't have to leave college so soon...cuz it rocks! I now understand why UW has so many 5+ year students...it's addictive here!

Time:5:39 pm.
Mood: tired.
Wow I am so freaking tired. 8:30 lab...6 hrs of class...aaahhhh. I'm glad Katie was tired today too...shorter hardcore pilates. School things are under control, yay. Unfortunately since I had 2 finals scheduled for 8 am on saturday, I now have one the day before in the afternoon. So basically I'll have 2/3 of my finals done before finals week technically even starts. But luckily I'll be done tuesday, and have the rest of the week to hang out. No me gusta ir a Atlanta. I wish endorphins stayed in your body for 2 weeks. Then I could start now and build them up. I WANT SNOWWWWW!!!

Subject:POSSIBLE SNOW
Time:10:06 pm.
Mood: happy.
Today has been magical! 50 minutes of hardcore pilates, followed by a nice workout with Brenna and Rachel at the IMA, and then a photography adventure out in the dark cold festively lighted outdoors with Brenna. We went to U Village and got hot chocolate to warm up, and then stopped by Owen's place to get help with his camera, and he wasn't there so Adrian and Addison entertained us with Chuck Norris stories instead. I'm looking forward to this weekend!!! (As always I guess) and I'm feeling so much better than over break, so yay. I got a new fleece jacket that blocks the wind, a new waterproof shell, and I brought my cute boots back to school, yay! Got a new poofy layer for the top of my mattress too, which I tested out last night, and I approve. Cold weather is fun cuz I get to bundle up and get all tingly and then super warm when I come back inside. And I love curling up on the couch and watching movies and drinking hot chocolate with friends!

Subject:And now I crash...
Time:2:56 pm.
Mood: exhausted.
Things are slowly getting under control at home...yay. My stupid manager still hasn't talked to me about my bounced check, even though the owners' receptionist said he talked to her about it...UGH. Last night, for some reason, I could not fall asleep. Registration jitters I guess? And stress...yay. I slept for about an hour at some point, and dreamt that I registered and it worked, so when I woke up after that bit of sleep I was completely confused...cuz obviously registration hadn't started yet. Turns out Julie stayed up all night (but on purpose) and Owen had massive insomnia too, and Brenna. Wtf?! Luckily I got my green checkmark after one click, and the only shitty parts are an evening lab and an 8:30 chem section. Other than that...12:30 starts :). WEEE! I was totally hyper til halfway thru bio...but I made it through spanish somehow, and didn't do horribly on my chem quiz that I got back today. We got out early from chem section AND I found out that my midterm has been postponed til monday, so now I only have 2 midterms on friday! Yay! I feel like decorating, or sleeping, and I'm hoping I get better by the weekend! Time to sleeeeeep.

Time:9:41 pm.
Mood: calm.
So today brought more shitty news, woo. BUT friends=YAY! I'm sick so I didn't make it to the IMA, but took a nap instead, and discovered that the silent mode on my phone doesn't work when it's charging...joy. Katie got me out and about and we went to Starbucks and got a yummy 7 layer bar and hot chocolate, and then we went back to her place and listened to music and talked and it was really nice! Registration tomorrow at the crack...woo. I think another nap tomorrow is in order. Hopefully I'll be done preparing for 2/3 of my midterms this week by wednesday so I can model for Brenna! I guess I'm working through things one at a time, I just wish that things would work out all at once and I wouldn't have to think about them for so long. Coldplay says it best I think...I'll focus on the silver linings.

I could feel it go down,
Bittersweet, I could taste in my mouth,
Silver lining the cloud,
Oh and I,
I wish that I could work it out...

I <3 Luis! (yes...that's my ipod...and yes he plays on my stereo now :))

Subject:BLAHHHH
Time:7:19 pm.
Mood: tired.
Thank god for the upcoming 3 day weekend...I NEED A BREAK! I had thought that this week would be an easier one, but I was very disillusioned. Luckily I have very little academic stuff to do this weekend, and mucho time for FUN. I'm going home friday, possibly thursday night but most likely not. I love how there are so many opportunities to go crazy on the weekends this year. Right now I just need to let loose a bit and do my own thing.
Called Children's and this time they weren't filled up so I'm going in December! Yay!
Turning my application in to VM friday :). 6 hours at hospitals a week will make me soooooooo happy. And maybe I'll find a doctor ;)(j/k j/k...I really don't care)...definitely talked about that in my lab group today while feeding cute little caterpillars.
I had a long talk with my mom today and found out that they have the final prognosis for my aunt, and she will live 18 months at the most. That makes me sad, but not as sad as the fact that she will be in pain. What is "living" anyways...she already has arm issues due to a huge tumor, and there are tumors all over her. Bio helps me view the situation in a calm, analytical manner, but then I let down my guard and get upset. But once I get upset, I can take a break from thinking about it for a while. I need a fluffy dog to pet (other than my spanish teacher's, even tho me encanta Paquita!) so going home friday will be good.
I love how my spanish class is basically a world ethics class with a liberal edge, and all we ever do is talk about world issues and solutions in spanish. I also love the fact that my teacher is basically a socialist :). YAY ESPANOL!

Subject:Pumpkin attack!!!
Time:9:06 pm.
Mood: crazy.
We definitely should've learned from Jon last year...eek! When Amber and I got home this evening, the apartment smelled HORRIBLE. So at first we thought it was the garbage. NO. Luckily Amber spied a brownish puddle on our counter next to a pumpkin that we'd dressed up in a thong, cami, and miniskirt. The skirt was soaked and the puddle was spreading fast (it got on Julie's laptop too). So we tried to scoot the pumpkin off the counter into a garbage bag, but it was so rotten that the whole bottom came off and it GURGLED...giving off even more of a bad smell, and leaking pumpkin goo EVERYWHERE...seeds were coming out too. So we threw out every pumpkin in the apartment, and have been lysoling and 409ing and using scented candles, but the smell is still in my nose! It'll be interesting when our bum neighbors go through our dumpsters like usual, only to find STINKY rotten pumpkins...EW! That was the excitement for the night, and hopefully we won't have any more stinky excitement in the future!
